Can someone let me know why these have so many shims. My car has been apart for about five years now. I only needed one thick shim on the bottom of my new brake master to get it lined up with the pedal. The old one had quite a few more. I found eight shims taped to my clutch master. The top and bottom had 3 thin ones backed up by on thick one. Do the masters need to be spaced so the pedal stroke does not go to far into the cylinder? Please let me know. thanks in advance! Larry.
