Ive been driving the new 69 2000 to work since everything seems to be
running good enough. I have a 15 mile stretch of real highway bracketed by 2
15 mile stretches of 60 mph 2-lane highway. I was up to 80 for about 5
minutes on the real highway then got off onto one of the slow highway
stretches. I noticed that the temp was running a little hotter than normal
(its normally between the two low marks on the temp gauge and it was up
just a little over the higher one). Also oil pressure normally runs ~ the >
mark while driving at speed it was down to just barely over the halfway
mark. On the 15 miles of slow highway home neither of these readings went
down to what I have been seeing. I dont hear or smell any of the things I
associate with overheating, and the radiator was not totally burning. No
leaks evident, I seem to have the same level of oil I had this morning.
Did I just get it up warmer and thin out the oil a bit or did I blow
something up?
