Probably a bit more than that. A new (old style 426) Hemi, retails at about
$13,000.00. That is without intake or exhaust. I believe Donovan's engines are
based on Big Block Chevys. If I recall correctly, the light weight block
alone is about $4,500.00. I am sure that quantity purchases reduce these
prices
substantially. Although, from the looks, the blocks appear to be custom
castings.
Remember, marine engines never "cruise" in the way that car engines may
after attaining a certain speed. They are always "under load".
