Another advantage of NOT going with red is tickets.
I drive Towncars while I am looking for employment more in tune with my
training (something that is very rare these days). Recently I picked up a
lady whose company had moved to the US from Germany. She told me that the
first time she drove down Interstate 5 she was stopped for doing about 90
MPH in a 65 MPH zone. She complained that there were other cars around her
moving at that speed, so why her? After sorting through her international
drivers license and passport the officer told her that she was not on the
German Autobahn, and that he stopped her because she alone was driving a red
car. He said that red did draw the attention of the officers over other
colors. He only advised her and did not give her a ticket. She took the
car back to the dealer and told the salesman she would take it...... IN
BLACK. I got the impression that she has not slowed down too much since.
