I've got a KA24DE that I'm trying to line up the alternator pulley with the
water pump pulley. I've removed all the accessories and will only need the
one belt but originally the water pump was on a different belt than the
alternator. I've read that some people use a Subaru alternator on the KA
swap. Is this primarily for size/space savings? I don't have any inner
fenders or the box sections. Will I still need a smaller alternator? How
have others solved this problem? Is there an alternate water pump pulley or
alternator pulley that will make everything line up?
