The Solvang Datsun Roadster Show has been a West Coast spring rite for 17
years. It's been my favorite since my first time in 98. It's moved around a
bit, for the sake of variety, But the BBQ during the awards presentation has
always been a winner. Spring time in the central coast of California is very
beautifull, with the hills green and full of wildflowers. The "Fun Runs" or
"Poker Runs" have varied over the years from sedate to wild. Meeting with my
fellow roadster owners is the best reason to go, in my opinion. When I meet
a Roadster newbie, or someone who's never been to the Solvang show, I
encourage them to make it. Some tell me "My car is not ready to show" and I
tell them it doesn't matter, everyone will be happy to see how it is now,
just to see the changes next year.
