My thanks to everyone who posted with helpful hints on getting my baby
back on the road, from hotwiring to how the ignition is assembled to
sources for code-cut keys. I'm going to try getting keys cut to code
first, since I'd rather not disable one moveable car to get the daily
driver going. If that comes up short I'll move on to swapping the
ignition assembly.
