Try leaving the mats out in the sun for a couple of hours.
If that doesn't help, you could try rubbing in a rubber conditioner or a
silicone spray.

I got a couple of the snap in (vinyl? / rubber?) trunk mats that are pretty
stiff over 90% of the mat.  Is there a product that would soften up the mat
(make it more pliable)?
