SO, has anyone heard exactly WHY gas is so damn expensive? It pisses me off
when I hear that Exxon/Mobile is posting huge profits. I have no problem with
companies making money and taking good care of their employees, but I am
getting the image of fat cats here. And when those same cats talk about
drilling in pristine natural reserves in Alaska and all the while trying to
tell the public that this will make us less dependent upon foreign oil (which
it absolutely WILL NOT) I question the integrity and motives of the big oil
machine. No offense to those who work in the industry, as I am sure there are
a great many wonderful friends and family members who do a fantastic job of
keeping oil and gas in my Roadster, but I do know that money corrupts, and when
you work in a business you do as your boss says if you want to keep your
job/house/car/credit, etc. So, what gives on prices? Any real, plausible,
honest explanations out there? I'm curious. The price of gas may keep me from
going to Shasta this year.

And besides, today I was lucky enough to find a
station that only charged $2.85 for 91 Octane :-). I
was able to get a 36 mo. loan right there at the pump
at only Prime +15%. As soon as that loan is paid off
I can afford to fill up my Roadster again.
