That Michigan plate is more specifically known around here (Detroit) as
an "M" plate. Only car manufacturers have them. So the car is
definitely owned by a car manufacturer, but it could be anybody:
Nissan, GM, Ford, Toyota, etc. Nissan does have offices in the
Detroit area, as well as California. Around here, if something gets
photographed as clearly as that car, it's because the manufacturer
wants it photographed. It could be an actual pre-production car, but
it could also be a decoy to throw off people looking for a "scoop."
Interesting photograph, whatever it is.
