I agree Mike.

Gaskets and stuff can all be replaced, but it's the internals that will 
really hurt to fix if they're not in good shape.  I wasn't saying 3.8K was 
necessarily a bad price, just follow the advice of: caveat emptor.  Maybe there 
is a 
lister nearby who would be willing to look for him.  I was lucky in that the 
roadster I bought was within reasonable driving time to be able to look at it.
