Although if you use it a lot, good plumbing will save you a lot of problems.
The use of risers and metal pipe can help cool down your air, which will
also help reduce moisture, which will kill a sandblaster.  For the casual
user, it's definetely overkill (but how cool would it look??)

You can also use a swing-pipe configuration on your elbows to give you a
little flex.  It takes a couple extra elbows, but may help with that concern
for a flex pipe.  Never seen one in black pipe, but the configuration is
simple and is used commonly on sprinkler heads so they can move up and down
without breaking a pipe:

That looks like the steam heating system for my house!!!! A little overkill
for a home setup.
