When inserting needles use a straight edge to set the installed height of
the needles.  And don't tighten the needle down too much!!!!! A little
pressure is fine. I have seen carb needles installed so tight that they
deformed making withdrawal of the needles impossible w/o ruining the
needles.

Set mixture after installation. The first station of the needles may or may
not be used depending on your idle rpms and it is really of no consequence.
The same is true of the final stations too as the piston simply doesn't rise
enough for those to come into play either.

Do it like the book - it's easier and better.

BTW, turn each mixture nut out 1.5 turns as a starting point. Generally
that's pretty close.
