I was disassembling a w/s frame for my MGB and noticed that the gasket is
very similar to the roadster gasket. A test fitting of the used MGB gasket
fit the extra section of a w/s frame I have laying around my house. Needless
to say I was ecstatic as the gaskets are NLA, especially the one piece type
that I used previously.
The MGB gasket may fit even better than the Datsun gasket but I will await
judgment on that until I receive the new gasket I just ordered. I also want
to see how long they are and if they go all the way around the w/s in one
piece. I may contact Moss or another place in Canada to see if they would
sell longer sections if need be.
If you think disassembling a Roadster frame was no fun just try
disassembling a MGB w/s frame. They used steel screws in aluminum and many
were almost impossible to get out. I broke an easy-out in one screw despite
using mucho heat :(
The gaskets are also no fun as they use channels to keep the gaskets in
place (except the w/s gasket) and are a PITA to remove and especially to
replace. I'm not looking forward to this.
If anyone is interested please respond. I can send you a small piece of the
used gasket after I receive my new gasket.
Replacement parts for MGs are sometimes very poor quality much to my dismay.
After years of getting NOS parts for my Roadster I have been disappointed
with the aftermarket parts sold for MGBs.

PS - I took my Roadster out for a topdown cruise on Sunday to relieve stress
and I can't believe how effortlessly my car 'cruises' at 90 MPH. Since
installing my plagued stroker and a 5 speed I can't underestimate what it
has done for the driving experience as compared to my original 3 main 1600
and 4 speed. And it runs on 'regular' gas too.
