Hey All,
Just wanted to let all of the SoCal people that I really hope as many people
come the BBQ as possible- not just to see the cars but also to help out
Barrie Strachan.
As many of you know, Barrie lost everything in the terrible fires that
burned so many homes and cars. Barrie was so unfortunate as to lose both-
including one of the nicest roadsters you will ever see- a customized 1966
with U20 engine. I will never forget the shaved hood and trunk- even the
valve cover had been shaved so it was just straight flawless metal.
But even more so is that Barrie Strachan is one of nicest people you will
ever meet. An unassuming gentleman in a group of assuming ones- present
company certainly included... He always haa a camera to take pictures with
and always has a ready smile. I am going to bring him a nice bottle of wine
and if his pride will accept it- a small donation.
I like the idea of the list and maybe some of the vendors coming up with
resources so a car may be found for him. He needs a ride and what better car
to recover from a tragedy such as this then with a Datsun Roadster? Please
folks, let's meet and go to CDM and have BBQ and a great time looking at
cars. but let's also help Barrie in any way we can. Let's take care of one
of our own.
If anyone would like to meet me for a cruise down on Saturday (weather
