I have my timing chains installed on my U-20 and am ready install the front
cover. I have a question. Upon removal of the timing components I layed them
on the bench. There were two shims about .020 or so ( I didn't measure them )
that came off with one of the gears. I don't remember where they were
installed. I believe they fit between the harmonic balancer and the oil
slinger.
I did not see shims mentioned in the manual. All the gears appear to line up
and don't need a shim. Can anyone advise if my assumption is correct? Do
these shims fit between the balancer and slinger?
