You guessed it. The nut comes out easily but more often than not the sender
is very hard to get out because of galvanic corrosion and other things. IF
the sender is impossible to get off from the outside, take off the
thermostat housing and punch it out from the inside with a long punch. That
being said you will have no other course other than to replace the sender
with a new one. They can be a *itch to get out sometimes.
