I restored 2 cars. Each time I finished the restorations and went to start
it up both heater cores leaked :(

There's nothing better than getting fresh A/F all over your brand new
carpets, except of course for spilling brake fluid on your shiny new paint.

I now replace all heater cores during a restoration and use silicone brake
fluid.
