Hi all,
I've got an off-topic question regarding one of my non-Roadster cars. It's a
'95 Camry with the V6 and 140k miles on it. Great car and this is the first
time I've had to do something non-standard to it. The check engine light
came on last week and the dealership said to replace the egr (exhaust gas
recirculating) valve, so I had them do it. As I was driving home the check
engine light came back on so I took it back the next day. This time they
said it was a carbon deposit restricting airflow causing this. They cleaned
it out and reset the light for no charge. They also suggested that an
induction system carbon cleaning might be in order.

Once again, as I was driving home, the light came on. This was last
Thursday. I haven't taken it back yet but I suspect that they will tell me
to get the cleaning done (for $120). My guess is that a small piece of
carbon flaked off something and is causing a clog again.

I've read about BK44 (http://www.bgprod.com/bgconsumer/bgservices/44k.html)
that is supposed to clean out carbon deposits - does anyone have any
experience with this?

I'll probably wind up paying for the cleaning, but does anyone have an
opinion on this?

Best regards,
