a few of you wanted to know what I thought about the air compressor I bought
from harbor freight. It arrived today. I was a little upset as the box was
thrashed and was not secured to the bottom box. the air filter box lid was
broken do to poor packing or shifting during shipment. the filter still
worked however. I pulled the cover to look things over and found that the
body had some surface rust on it (not on the cylinder itself). it looked
minimal but a little irritating. no instruction manual either. I filled it
with oil and fired it up. ran great and held pressure. I did fire off an
e-mail to customer service with a complaint about the rust and the airbox. I
don't think I will send it back for replacement. overall it looks good and
filled up fast. for 188 delivered I am happy. I think I will ask for a
rebate however. I don't know if the torn box was a Harbor Freight issue or
UPS. anyway, I would probably buy it again (at this point in the game) but
would get it at the store. I forgot that we had one here in Vegas but it was
