Good afternoon,
I have an SU carb tuning question, I think, on my 68' 1600.
I checked the oil in my dampers and it was very low and after reading
the SU tuning stuff on Sports imports web page I was really concerned
about damaging something. I put in a little oil and got it to the
correct level. Everything had been running really well, but now It
stumbles and hesitates really badly and randomly backfires at a higher
frequency (pitch) than i've heard before. I re-tuned the carbs and
synced them the best I could, but it still runs really rough. Any ideas
from the good people out there? Did I miss something or have I just not
tinkered with the adjustments enough. I disassembled the suction piston
and suction chamber and cleaned those, they were pretty soiled. That
actualy seemed to help a little. Any other advice or suggestions?
Thanks again,
Ed
