I don't know about you, fellow SoCalROC members, but I had to hock my
radiation suit to pay for the paint job! Summer (read HOT) weather is
approaching fast, and I don't like riding around in a four-wheeled microwave
oven. Sure, I'm planning a few night runs this summer when it gets REALLY
hot, but how about a day run before then?
The talk earlier about airplanes has got me all fired up to go to the Chino
museum once more. Checked the weather report and they say partly cloudy
through Sunday, which is Father's Day. I also went on the Planes Of Fame
Museum site http://www.planesoffame.com/index.htm and they say on Father's
Day, dads are free admission!
This may be non-roadster content, but ever seen a B17 Flying Fortress up
close? Ever seen a real live Mitsubishi Zero fighter from WWII? Not the fake
ones from TV and movies, but the real deal? Chino has got em, plus a lot of
other cool old flying hardware from the past. Jon Frampton and I found a
neat twisty, non-freeway route to Chino from Orange County last year and I
wanna go again!
So how's about a ride and a tour? And if you're somebody's father, a free
tour to boot!
