OK, after futzing more with the distributor, making sure points were clean,
everything fastened down well, and the fabric covered wire in the distributor
wasn't broken (btdt), I put it all back together, turned it over, and it
sparked - once. Then not again. I adjusted the wire outside the distributor
to make it sit better... and the car started.
So I guess it was a decent time to replace all these parts, and I'll give a
report on those Feditco tune-up parts (first impression - look cheap, but may
be functionally fine, was a better deal at $30 for 12 sets than $35 for 6).
Time to make sure timing is right and enjoy the ride!
