Enrique, No conversion was done. Japan was still copying English and
American equipment at the time the roadster was designed right down to the
fasteners. Later they did their own conversion to metric on the drive train 67
1/2 and later, but left a number of other fasteners on the car SAE. The thing
to watch out for are the previous owners who believe the car to be all metric
who literally drive metric fasteners into sae threaded holes or vice versa.
If you have ever taken a car apart and have looked at all of those wonderful
fasteners laying in your parts box you can begin to see how, without careful
selection and care, someone can make the error of picking the wrong fastener
for the wrong hole. Good luck , Dean
