Okay, to attempt to solve clutch problem I bought new clutch mc and slave.
Installed them and bled out fine. Problem remains about clutch pressure.
When I adjust clutch, I do so without spring on, correct? I basically have
to back slave shafts nuts almost all the way to the slave body, away from
fork, to get any kind of space between nuts and fork. Put spring back on.
I press/pump on pedal once, no pressure. After 2 pump and so on, plenty of
normal pressure. Here's the weird part: if I take off slave spring, it
works fine.
What am I doing wrong? The book and every reply to adjustment question says
to put just a teeny bit of space between nuts and fork. Like I said above,
to do that means almost moving nuts all the way to towards the slave body.
If I do set it so there is no space between nuts and fork, same thing (no
pressure, next pump has pressure).
I would also note that when I take off spring, slave shaft moves out of the
body towards fork. Is it supposed to stay put when I take off spring (in
other words, not move out of slave)?
I think this is the last major mechanical issue before I can get car on road
(still working on interior and a few cosmetics).
Sorry to continue to bother the list about this, but it really has me
puzzled!!
TIA SO MUCH!!
