header fit

I purchased a new header from one of our vendors and find that it hits the
frame near the bottom, even before I tighten the nuts (which would push the
bottom of the header even more into the frame).

Is this something that others have encountered and if so can you bend the
header enough to make it fit?  Does an original exhaust manifold have a
better chance of working?

Suggestions?
