Mine is the ratchet type, but ...
When I use it, it lifts half the car at a time. Keep jacking and the rear
wheel should rise also - at least that's how it works on my car. But, the
rear wheel is lifting by the time the fronts actually get off the ground.
You may have too much chassis flex to use the stock jack - dunno.
