I still have the 2000. I guess it was priced too high when I tried to sell
it last fall. Oh well, I wasn't terribly dissappointed. Looks like I'll
just have to keep it and get it back on the road.
Over the holidays I pulled the engine and tranny, and separated the body
from the frame. I was also able to go over the boxes of extra "junk" parts
the PO gave me. I couldn't have been more wrong. He had few engine parts
still sealed in the orginal Nissan boxes. The PO had the engine rebuilt;
amongst the spare parts was the old timing gear set. How can you tell if
the gears are still useful? Maybe they were pulled prematurely? (a
stretch, I know)
