Well, more of a quarterly posting

This is the info file Datsun Roadster mailing list.
KEEP THIS MESSAGE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE

Send your mail for the entire list to

datsun-roadsters@autox.team.net

MONTHLY POSTING:

Welcome to the Roadster list. This list is dedicated to the pure
enjoyment of Datsun 1500,1600 and 2000 roadsters and serves as
a forum for the open discussion of anything pertinent that you wish
to pass on. Keep us up to date with your projects, parts you might
have or need, questions on repair procedures, tips that might help
others, or just ramble on about a pretty drive in the country.

HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE:

If you ever want to remove yourself from this mailing list,
you can send mail to <Majordomo@autox.team.net> with the following
command in the body of your email message:

    unsubscribe datsun-roadsters

or from another account,
    unsubscribe datsun-roadsters yourname@yourdomain.com

[remember when changing addresses, please unsubscribe from
your old address first... then subscribe by sending in the
new request from your new email address]

If you ever need to get in contact with the owner of the list,
(if you have trouble unsubscribing, or have questions about the
list itself) send email to <owner-datsun-roadsters@autox.team.net> .
This is the general rule for most mailing lists when you need
to contact a human.

DIGEST FORMAT:

A digest version of this list is available. This is basically all the
day's mail bundled into a single message. Included below is the info file
one gets when subscribing.

To switch from the real time list to the digest list, send mail to

  majordomo@autox.team.net

with nothing in the body but

  unsubscribe datsun-roadsters
  subscribe datsun-roadsters-digest

you will receive a message from the server asking for confirmation.
Just cut and past the line starting with "auth" and send it back to
the server. This confirms you requested the subscription to the mailing
list.

When you send some other request which majordomo doesn't understand to
the majordomo@autox.team.net address, it may take days, maybe even a week
before a human gets around to reading it and actually acting upon it.

COPYRIGHT:

Authors retain implicit copyright to their material
Obtain permission from the author before redistributing messages.
(Anything posted to the list can only be archived by the autox.team.net
server, www.roadster.org, or on the escribe website.)

WHERE TO FIND the FAQ (Frequently asked questions, etc):

www.datsun.org
www.roadster.org

MEMORY JOG:

TO HELP US keep track of who has what/where: your name at the bottom of
your post with a city & which model car you have is appreciated. ;-)

SERVER:

The Datsun Roadster mailing list is part of the (Team.Net) server,
located in Utah. It also hosts many other mailing list (British cars,
autox list, etc) and at times may be running very slow. On some days
your post take minutes to show up on the list, and yet over 12 hours
on other days. Just part of the way email works on the "information
superhighway "...

ADVERTISING:

In brief: must pertain to the Datsun Roadster. Commercial vendors
are requested to post a monthly "special" of one page giving descriptions
and prices valid for the month. Not all of use have www access, so
the month posting would be appreciated. They MUST be reachable for
questions / discussion via email if they wish to post such a flier.
A sig file should be kept to four lines, with their name, address,
email address and web site address.

ARCHIVES:

Archives are back up at www.team.net/archive/datsun-roadsters

WWW access through http://www.team.net/team.net.html

Anonymous FTP access through ftp.team.net, login ftp, password
your.address@your.site

Some things to note:
--------------------------

Like the other lists served from autox.team.net, this one, in both regular
and digest form, continue to exist through the volunteer efforts of the
list manager, Mark J. Bradakis, mjb@autox.team.net. The list manager retains
the right to make any and all changes to list content, membership and
policies, including dissolving the list, at any time as he sees fit.

The postings to this list are intended only for those on this list. Any
reproduction by any means without the express consent of the author is not
only rude and stupid, but prohibited.

Mail for the list gets sent to hundreds of people, traveling through many
hundreds, if not a thousand or more, computers. This may take days to
actually occur, as some sites still use once a day polling to transmit mail.

Given the current state of technology it is not improbable that one of those
links will exhibit some sort of problem. When you post a message, you may
get back error messages. This DOES NOT mean you need to resend it. What it
does mean is that everybody got it except for maybe one or two folks. Don't
repost things unless you are absolutely, positively sure it did not
reach\anyone on the list.

Also remember that not everyone has the latest and greatest technology at
their fingertips. Keep your text limited to lines less than 80 characters
long. Turn off HTML formatting if you send mail out with a web-based mailer.
Turn off any of those Microsoft attachemnts as well, if you are using any
Microsoft products to send your mail. Folks with PCs may have trouble with
this, learn to drive your mailer or go away.

Try to keep the size of your submissions under control. Post writeups of
events you attend, but don't get too long winded. Feel free to ask about
technical issues, parts and cars, either wanted or for sale. Do NOT think
that everybody on the list wants to have some nice big picture dumped in
their mailbox. If you want to send out pictures, programs or anything more
than a few paragraphs long, send a short note to the list explaining what you
have, what boxes it will run on, and how folks can get it if they wish.
