DETAILER??

Hmmm. Well, your only hope is to sacrifice a Miata on the alter of the
roadster gods. A 2000 or later should do it.

Okay, guilty as charged, it was me who caused the rain, and subsequently
paid for it.
In my excitement prior to Turfside, I took my car to a detailer on Thursday
(mildly overcast) and he was closed. Looked at the morning weather report
on Friday, one station said 'drizzle' the other said 'showers', and I asked
myself, 'how often are the news characters actually correct?' So, drove
into work at 5:45 am, and didn't bring the top along. (insert heavy
dissonant organ music here)
The detailer did a bang up job (car turned a darker shade I'd ever seen
before!) and it was cloudy when I left for home, drizzle at 20 miles form
home, absolute pouring at 10 miles from home. I had some shop safety
glasses, so no stinging pain, but when the windshield is covered with water
(detailer cleaned off the Rain-X) and the safety glasses are covered with
water, well, let's just say things start to resemble a dream sequence from a
bad movie. Oh, and above 35-40 mph, it is a completely dry ride. (and
above 60 none hit the windsheild either? most curious)
