I have been on the list for about 4+ years now, I really feel like I know a
lot of you even though I have not met you. When I first got started with my
car I didn't know about this list or how fanatical some of you are (he he).
The first people I met were Michael (Calspeed),Fred (Katman), and Van (Van)
and I couldn't believe how nice they were and that there were people that
lived in my area that were also interested in the these cars. I attended as
many fun runs as possible and expanded my roadster use to autocrosses and
actual track time (Laguna Seca, Sears Point and Thunderhill). In that time I
also bought a red 1600 for my wife because she really enjoyed the people in
the BADROC group. Things went a little sour after that, she didn't have time
to learn how to drive the stick shift,there was a bunch of petty bickering on
this list and I couldn't take both my kids in my car without a fight. Soooo,
I sold the red car and decided to sell DATSTER. Then there was an e-mail sent
by a roadster owner after Solvang 02 that made me remember what it was like
the first time I saw more than 1 roadster in a month (it was beautifully
written and I saved it for some time). Luckily DATSTER didn't sell, now I'm
doing an engine swap just to keep me working on it and keeping me interested
on it (hope to be done by Shasta). Well, if you have kept reading down to
this point you deserve a medal because I have bored myself. Anyway, I have
learned a lot from this list and I don't just mean about our cars. I hope to
continue going to events and someday taking my wife and kids to meet my
roadster family.
