I think what the Honda engineers were trying to do was make it sound like
the Harley. Which got their little you know whats stepped on BIG TIME  by
Harley Davidson. Which led H.D. to patent that very distinctive sound their
machines make. Or, is this another case of folklore?

I read a writeup on one of the hondas of this stripe and apparently
the engineers had a time getting it to idle as badly as a Harley,
they had to offset something weird on the crankshaft or something.
