I assume you have a cast iron head. The aluminum heads had a 10mm short stud
where the front hook and alternator adjusting bracket is attached. The cast
iron head is different. There should be a bracket under the thermo housing
which has the front hook and a welded nut to which the bracket is affixed.
Someone must have an extra somewhere if you don't have that.
