Our cars appeared on the front page of the same newspaper with a lengthy
article about our cars and several pictures in the early 90s. Mike Jennings
has a lot of contacts and got a reporter to cover our cars and conduct
interviews.
Our cars also appeared in the 1992 Watkins Glen program with my car leading
the way and Dave Pesky, Steve Painter and Jack Jones following as we raced
around on the race track. I was quite shocked when I bought the program.
The Datsun Roadster meet over the years has made quite an impression on many
fellow vintage sports car owners. At one point we had 45 cars which is quite
a showing for the East Coast where most cars turned to rust. Where once the
MGB clubs ruled, we took over.
It was fortunate that Mike Jennings had the idea for the meet, and that the
DRA took out an advertisement in Road & Track where I read about the
upcoming 1st meet in early 1987.
I would also like to thank Gordon as he was a driving influence behind the
DRA and probably placed the ad.
