Wipe the oil pan clean and then look again after some use. I had some oil
on the front of my trans when I bought the car. I assumed the rear main seal
but when I started to pull the engine I noticed the oil was actually coming
from the timing chain cover on front and running back the oil pan flange and
then blowing onto the trans. Spray some engine degreaser on the trans and
oilpan and then check each time you drive
