Dana; the "B" cam has a small B stamped in the very back of the cam, back
behind where it's held by the rearmost cam tower. In the car, you'd have to
look with a small mirror (with the valve cover removed, of course).
My understanding is that it's the mostly the degree or length of lift that's
different between the "A" and "B" cams, although the "Solex" cam has a bit
higher lobe (the valve opens a skootch farther). In other words, the B cam
opens sooner and stays open longer. The valve lash setting you'd make is
unaffected by anything on the lobes, as you make this adjsustment when the
lobe isn't contacting the rocker arm. Depending on what you've got, the
ignition timing settings might be a little different.
