$1400 for carbs and manifold, that in most instances, will return negligible
performance gains. You just can't slap on the carbies and expect them to run
correctly on your engine - so figure, at least, another $100 to get the
correct jets and other doohickies needed for correct mixture. And an
air/fuel mixture gauge to see how your engine is running.
W/O the solex cam and other mods and a good valve job it's a waste of money
IMHO and better spent on getting your head ported and other head mods or
save it for your timing gears.
Of course if you need the looks and the sound, go for it.
I can think of a lot better uses for 1400+.
But it's your money and you can do with it as you please. I just like being
the Devil's advocate.
