Boy! an exciting couple of days!!
first off, in defense of the "texas list member", he has done me right.
WHEREVER he gets his damn parts!
Second,
I dont know crap about 5 speeds, but have learned to take everthing
with a grain of salt. I saw the original postee (with pride) share his
info with the list...only to be shot down.
I'm not disputeing any info from those who know more than others
(especially myself)
I do know research and experience is the best teacher and authorities
are not always right.
Which brings me to number Three,
On Tues, I came inches from being arrested for Armed Robbery! Yup! you
read right.
Roadster content: I was working ALL DAY on the 67.5, and I need some
coffee. I step out of my house start walking to the Starbucks about a
block away. No more than 10' from my drive way, a B/W comes screeching
to a halt. 20 questions, handcuffs.......ouch..too tight!
Well I have long hair, Winchells was robbed by someone with long hair.
I fit the description. AMERICA.....GUILTY UNTILL PROVEN INNOCENT.
I'm taken over to the Winchells to be ID'd by the victim.. The funny
thing is the cops told me that if she said It wasn't me they'd give me
a ride to Starbucks and buy me coffee.
We are there for a LONG TIME!! me in cuffs, the cop chatting to his
girlfriend on the cell phone...me still in cuffs.
Finally one of the cops comes over and I ask him, "can I go now?" He
Says.....she says you are the one. OH MY GOD!!!
Jail, Bail, Attys, etc.
I see one of the veteran cops leave with a video tape. Hmmm... Is there
hope? they are gone to Radio Shack for about a half an hr.
I'm nervous....real nervous...what if the tape is broken, what if the
quality is bad.........
Half an hr later the Vets come back...."It is definatly not him"
Thank GOD!!!!!
they thanked me for my cooperation, said sorry, and I was free to go.
I said, "I just left my house to get a cup of coffee! these guys
promised to take me there and buy me one." The SGT said that's the
least we can do, drove me over to Starbucks, bought me coffee and gave
me a ride back home.
I got my coffee and went back to work on the car!
