The 1.8L would be the one to get. Both are very reliable, and what a great
shifter on that 5spd! Turbo and S/C kits are available, but with the cost
you might as well use a SR20DET. The miata motors can handle a 75hp shot of
nitrous all day long, so that might be a cheap power alternative.
BTW, the Ford Escort GT has the same motor, but it is set up for FWD so the
intake, exhaust and oil pan are facing the wrong way.
