Ignition Switch Repair?

Can ignition switches be repaired?  The one from our '67 doesn't work; 
nothing happens when the key is turned.  We popped the switch from one of our 
'64s into the '67 and that one works fine.  Being the curious (and 
destructive, as my mom used to say) type, I'd kinda like to crack it open and 
see how it works...
