As Terry cost mentioned earlier, this June the Z-car national convention
(ZCCA) is having it's convention in San Antonio. Featured personalities
are Mr. K and the 350-Z rollout. Here are some links:

Dave and Diana Morreale are planning a caravan from Houston (Dave in a Z,
Diana in a Roadster), and this caravan is supposed to meet up (in New
Braunfels) with another caravan from Dallas. Here's the info on the
Houston caravan:
>Diana and I just got back from pre-running the route we're planning to take
>to caravan with everyone to the International Z Car Convention in San
>Antonio this year. And since you ARE going to the convention, this should
>be of special interest to you.
> We'll be meeting Sunday Morning, June16th at Katy Mills Mall Parking Lot
>on the North Side. We are planning on pulling out at 11:00am, so get there
>in plenty of time. Be gassed up (your car), with a clean windshield and a
>great attitude. We've got a couple of stops planned along the way for those
>of us with small bladders. We'll also stop along the way and grab a bite to
>eat for a late lunch; so for those of you with uncontrollable tummies.you
>might want to bring along some snacks for the road.
> For those of you coming in from out of town, there are quite a few hotels
>in the area. On the outbound side of I-10, at exit 750 there is an Omni
>Hotel (pricey). At exit 751 There is a Holiday Inn Select, and a Red Roof
>Inn (kinda pricey). All have easy access and good parking for trailers.
>On the Inbound side of I-10 (again, exit 751) there is a Motel 6, La Quinta,
>and a Fairfield Inn, but we didn't check them out. BETTER YET - At exit 744,
>there is a Comfort Inn, and Holiday Inn Express, and a Super 8 (all closer
>to our meeting spot and more reasonably priced).
>Here's the plan:
> Take EXIT 742 in Katy and go left under the overpass. Go past the
>Wal-Mart. Turn right at Market Place Dr. (Wal-Mart on right). Pass Discount
>Tires (unless you need a tire). You will now be facing our meeting place.
>Turn left at the stop sign (Katy Mills Cr.) and immediately turn right and
>you are there !
> There are several ways to get out of the Mall and (trust me, we tested
>them all), so at this point just plan on following me out as we turn out
>West bound (go left) onto I-10. Don't panic ! We'll go slow so that we can
>re-group once we get up onto the highway. Now, it's headlights on and into
>the right lane and onward to EXIT 694 at Columbus where there are several
>gas stations and a Dairy Queen and a McDonald's (of course) for gas and/or a
>bite to eat (there's a joke in here somewhere, but I'm gonna leave it
>alone).
> We'll continue on after lunch to the Seguin Exit (didn't write down the
>exit number). This is Texas Highway 46. Turn right (North) here. We'll go
>the (according to the map) 13 miles to New Braunfels (felt more like 14
>miles to me).
>Just a special note for our out-of-state folks. About mid-way, we'll pass
>through a tiny little town called Clear Springs. On the left you'll see
>Clear Springs Inn which is a really great place for fried catfish (get some
>onion rings while you're waiting for your catfish). This building started
>its life out as a barn (which is fairly evident). In the '70's at the height
>of the cosmic cowboy era, this barn became a dance hall/concert hall and
>hosted many local entertainers who went on to greater fame (and many who
>didn't). Willie Nelson played here often and a local band (actually, from
>Sealy) called the Texas Rose Band played here often. They had a young lead
>singer named George Strait. Some of you may have heard of him.
>If you're not into country and western music.never mind.
>When we get to the intersection of Hwy. 46 and I-35, we'll turn right (even
>though the signs say that San Antonio is the other way) and go about 2 miles
>and then make a left under the overpass to RIP GRIFFIN'S TRAVEL CENTER. We'
>ll go to the back where there is a HUGE parking lot in which we'll wait for
>the caravan from Dallas. There is also a Shell Gas Station here if you need
>gas. We'll be waiting for their phone call when they are a couple of miles
>away so that we can wait in air conditioned comfort in the restaurant or
>store.
>If you need to contact us; Diana's cell phone is: 443-838-2770
>For those of us running C.B. Radio's.we'll be on channel 10
>If you would, please email me (_ HYPERLINK mailto:zcardave@aol.com
>__zcardave@aol.com_) with your cell phone # so that I can put together a
>list of everyone's phone #'s in case we get separated, lost, or need help of
>some sort (this could prove to be handy throughout the whole week).
