Hey All,
I had been asking my tech buddies about LSDs and other performance parts
when one asked me "Are you building a race car or a street car?" He seemed
to think that if I am going to spend money on my car that I should put it to
better use unless I was intending to build a race car.
This got me to thinking. Why can't you have your cake and eat it too with
these cars? I have driven posi cars with 4.11 diffs and loved the sensation
of shooting out of a turn but I hate them at high speeds on the freeway.
I also love the improvement of handling in a car with a full comp suspension
but those cars are "bone shakers".
So I had toyed with the idea of setting up a 3.7 LSD and the reaction I got
was "What's the point of that?" "There is no positraction at 100 mph and a
3.7 diff isn't going to get you out of a hole."
So I guess I am greedy. I want the performance options but toned down for
street use. Maybe I should come up with a new definition: Street
Performance.
Sounds good to me.
