Notice Calspeed says we do a 70-75 average. That's average. Sometimes lower,
and well, sometimes higher. Like the time me, him and Dave Gardin were
pulling about 85 to 90. Calspeed in front, me in the middle, and Dave
behind. I glance in the mirror and a CHP cruiser is right on my bumper, and
Dave is way back. Don't know where the heck the cruiser came from. So we
throttle back, the cruiser looks us over a couple minutes, then he goes and
pulls over an ordinary sedan nearby. Whoa, roadsters rule! After that we
were getting far lower than the 70-75 average! (Lest anyone think we're
nuts, these highways are mostly empty in an desert-like setting - we drive
sanely in populated areas.)
With more cars in the caravan, the driving is leisurely to keep the group
together. Of course, Calspeed is known to disappear ahead of the group every
once in a while ;>
