Where are you located?
One reason I don't recommend a hard top is they can
damage the paint where it sits down on the body. Even
with a near perfect rubber seal, and properly clamped,
dust gets between the hard top and body. The dust with
vibration will really cut into the paint over time.
I should point out the problem seems worse with the older
rubber seals that rest on the body. Not as flexible, so
they transmit more vibration rather than soaking it up
like they should.
Sorry, I tossed my hard top years back (broken out
windows, didn't want to transport it on a car with
good paint!).
