| If used is okay, try Mike Kerr at Roadster Restoration for the marker
| lights.
| For your wiring it should be a BW/R to the coil +, a BW to the resistor
| (BW/W from the other side of the resistor to the coil +) and a Black from
| the dist to the coil -.
| The best way to check that all is correct is with a volt meter. With the
| key in the run position (wires disconnected from the coil) one of the
wires
| will have 12V, that wire goes to the resistor. With the key in the Start
| position (make sure your not in gear) you should see 12V at the other +
| wire. That wire goes to the coil directly. What this does is allow a
full
| 12V to the coil while the car is being started but then when the key goes
| back to the run position the coil primary voltage drops (because of the
| resistor) to 8-9V. that makes the coil last longer.
| Hope that helps,

| Paul and List,
|
| Thanks for the info. I did check with Les he does not have the tear drops
| but he does have the amber lights.
| I have the wiring diagram for the original owners manual. All the wiring
is
| in and currently working. You can turn the key on the steering column and
| the car starts. We are trying to figure out which (color) wires go to the
| coil. The photos I took before we took the car apart in July don't show
the
| colors very well and the tape that I put on to me the colors have been
lost.
|
| Thanks again everyone.

| | Deena,
| |
| | There are a few places you can still buy side lights from, but if you
| | already know that Les at CDM has them, why look any further!
| | BTW, do you have a GOOD 1969 1600 wiring diagram? These are different
| | from '68 & '70s and 2000's. If you try following the wrong diagram, you
| | could make a mess (or at least spend hours tracing wires that don't
| exist).
