Actually, there were three different low windhshield soft top latches.
The 65-early 67 had the "lunchbox" type hasp that had the metal wire hooking
over the lip of the receiver.
The 67.5 models used a cantilever sideways closing latch to so the latch
wouldn't interefere with the newly introduced sun visors.
The 63-64 models had three raised studs on their windshield frame. The
latches were basically three round knobs that threaded a screw through a
metal hasp that dropped over the studs. You sealed the top by tightening the
knob against the stud. A pain for those of us who have to do it, a la Tim
Corcoran, me, Gary Lasater, Charlie Hubbard, Mark Dent and the other 63-64
owners out there.

Lou,
There were 2 types of latches. The early cars had a heavy steel wire clamp
that had a latch which faced the inside of the car. The later cars had a
solid metal clamp and the latch faced the side of the car.
I don't know when they changed the clamps.
