Larry,
I can't explain that but Datsun used whatever they did have on hand. My 1600
had 1500 inner fenders and a 1500 grill. I saw pictures of the car when it
was new and that was the way it came from the factory. I bought my car from
the original owner which was a wedding present to her.
I saw several 260Zs that had early front bumpers and late style rear
bumpers.
Go figure.
