John, The 67.5 Is Negative ground. The red wire is most likely a
replacement. The stock negative was black and had two or three leads
attached to the post that connects to the block. One lead to the frame, one
lead to the body at the voltage regulator bolt and one lead to the ground
post of the alternator.

wiser to remove the body, then start the disassembly of the car (engine,
tranny, etc.) or should I yank those out first before taking the body
off?  In other words, can I get to everything I need in order to disconnect
the body from the car with the engine and transmission still in place.

Iv'e seen it done either way. There doesn't seem to be anything keeping you
from leaving the engine in place. Ask Paul Bauman. he did it that way.
