Remove the boot and secure the bottom nut with a 14mm (or 9/16) wrench and
then turn the shift lever with a crescent or another 14mm. Sometimes I hold
the bottom nut with a visegrip. Plan on getting your hands dirty and
scraped. You can also hold the bottom nut with a long extension and swivel
on a socket wrench if you have a helper.
