Hello All,
Just wanted to let y'all know that we offically went into escrow on a house
yesterday. Its a 2 bedroom 2 full bath 1902 victorian in the West Oakland
area. The house is in great shape with just about everything redone. New roof
foundation, plumbing, electical, central heat, water heater, new paint on the
outside (Irene got to pick the colors), New paint on the inside, the bathrooms
are all new. The great thing about it is taht the bottom floor is the garage
area-with 11' high ceilings on a cement slab. Its the whole size of the house.
Can you say room for a HUGE shop!! + storage + enough space for another huge
room with its own bath (we have to build this ourselves then we plan on
renting the room out to help with the mortgage). AND its got a full height
attic that we plan on turning into some kind of living space. Plus a good sized
longish and narrowish backyard. Can you tell I am excited?
Just because I know everybody wants to know..the finished portion of the house
is ~1800sq feet and we paid $300,000 for it. And believe me that was a deal
for the SF bay area.
I also wanted to say thanks to everybody who bid on the ebay stuff I
was selling and everybody who spread the word. Some things went for less than
I was expecting and some things went for more-a lot more. All the money I made
is going into covering the closing costs for the new place and its going to help
us immensely.
